syrup sponge cake


A really easy recipe great for packed lunches


100g dark soft sugar

200g of butter

2 eggs

3 tablespoons of golden syrup

200g self-raising flour


preheat oven to 170

cream together butter and sugar

whisk together eggs and syrup and add to the butter mix

fold in the flour and mix until smooth

pour into lined loaf tin or round tin

bake for around half an hour until skewer comes out clean in the middle
