4tbsp of syrup
125g Plain flour
150g Light brown Muscavado Sugar
4 Large Pears
2 tsp baking powder
125g Caster Sugar
200ml Full cream milk
Preheat oven to 180, slice and arrange pears in the base of a buttered ovenproof dish
Sift the flour and baking powder together into a bowl and add caster sugar, milk, melted butter and egg. Whisk together for two minutes until pale in colour and then pour over pears
To make sauce
Place the brown sugar and syrup into a small pan and add 250ml of cold water. Cook over a medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil and remove from the heat.
Carefully pour the sauce over the pudding, the bake for 35-40 minutes until the sponge is golden.
Serve with cream or ice cream
