Were heading towards the middle of May already. It’s quite scary how times flying by. But that’s a good thing I suppose because normally with Bipolar, Depression seems to make life stand still.
I had a fantastic bank holiday weekend. On Sunday we went to a place called Calke Abbey, we like going here and taking Rowley. But this time there was a craft fair in the grounds. We were actually invited to this one but turned it down because my dad was away on his hols. But after going we have now booked into there summer fayre in August. It was a fantastic fair with lots of variety in stalls. I could have spent a fortune but I did make a few purchases.
Bank Holiday Monday we called in at Moira furnace, it’s really pretty and a really nice place to walk the dog. They had a car boot and a family day running. We then moved on the Staunton Harold Estate. I’ve never actually visited before but WOW fabulous walks, huge and really really good garden centre, the house of course and the Ferrers Craft Centre which is well worth a visit. I ended up buying a French Lavender plant from the garden centre as you can’t beat the smell of Lavender. So its happy sitting in my window for now.
This week I’ve also been making all sorts of little things out of my scrap pile……which is rather large. I’ve really enjoyed making them…so here they are
Rag coasters, snap fastener cases, pretty little hair clips and more lavender bags.
On the Haberdashery front – my pin wheel quilted wall hanging is finished and displayed in the window. I’m really pleased how it turned out and I’ve had lots of lovely comments. Now I’m planning my next one 🙂
Its been a quiet week in regards of new stock this week after the big yarn order has not arrived yet but we have had a few items in. Ribbon bundles and crochet cottons have been replenished. We’ve had 20 new knitting patterns in, new ribbons and my favourite is the white, baby pink and baby blue tape.
It’s been quiet on the stock front but busy on the customer front. We’ve met so many new customers this week and quite a few people who are moving to the area. I love hearing about what customers are making and altering and having a go at something new.
Well that’s my week and I’ve got a busy week next week with a couple of meetings, yarn finally arriving and we’re open for 7 days next week.
I hope your all well and safe.
