This week I’ve not known if I’m coming or going. Its difficult trying to hold down a job, run a haberdashery, be a mum, clean the house, do the ironing and cooking and trying to fit some quality family time in. I don’t think I’m doing a bad job at it but god I’m starting to feel tired now. My days start at 6am and the first time I get a bit of a breather is about 8pm by that time I’m shattered so when I sit down with nothing else to do I feel my eyes drooping 😦 So this week I took advantage of the football being on and made a syrup sponge cake using my old recipe on here but substituted the normal self-raising flour for gluten-free self-raising flour. It turned out quite well and if anyone can’t find my recipe on here please message me and I’ll send it to you.
It was nice and calming to bake again. Before the days of Simply Needlecraft I had time to bake and cook and always had something homemade to have for tea and dessert. Now I’ve decided I need to make more time in the kitchen…..if thats possible. This week it’s also been Rowleys 2nd birthday……I thought he might have calmed down a bit by now but sadly he’s still nuts and doesn’t show any sign of growing up as yet, but we love him and his over the top personality.
Craft wise this week, finished projects are Baby door pillows with minky fleece Redwork Embroidery – my favourite. The simple designs are so elegant. Key rings using scraps Frayed flowers using scraps.
