I think everyone has a dream don’t they?
Even though my life is pretty good compared to other sufferers I still always dream of something else.
I have a great hubby, a fantastic little boy, Supportive parents, a smelly beagle and of course my shop but I always dream of a little cottage in the countryside.
I live in Derbyshire (Swadlincote) but where we are it’s not very rural but we are only a short drive away to more rural parts so it’s not bad. However sometimes it feels like I’m in a rat run, with houses being close together and with thousands of new houses being built-in the area its fair to say its more built up than ever. But Swadlincote is only a small town so I dread to think what I’d be like living in a city, I don’t think my brain would cope.
So I suppose I’ll have to live the cottage lifestyle without the cottage and the sheep and hens 🙂
Anyway this week has had its ups and downs.
The biggest down is that my Uncle Steve is back in hospital and his organs are shutting down. He’s only 49yrs old and is suffering tremendously and there’s nothing any doctor can do. 😦 It won’t be long until that dreaded day so we are making the most of the time we have left. xx
On Sunday we took Rowley on his favourite walk around Moira furnace where there was a car boot…..the car boot was brilliant, weather was glorious and we managed to get a few bargains. Even though I love to upcycle and recycle I always find myself walking around these sales thinking that’s nice, what can I make out of that’….so I end up with loads of material to upcycle. Heres my favourite
i was sure what to do with it so I decided to have a go at rag rugging. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Think I’ll try a rug next time.
Monday morning I decided to throw a whole chicken in the slow cooker so I wasn’t rushing about if we needed to go to the hospital. I hate ready meals and processed food they are always high in salt so fast, easy homemade is a must in this house and a slow cooker is the perfect answer. So many dishes can be prepared anytime of the year.
But Look what hubby brought home for me today, gooseberries and rhurbab…..So I couldn’t help myself crumbles had to be made…..delicous
Thats it for now BUT the good news is I finally have internet connection in the haberdashery so I can blog much more often now to the point your going to get sick of me 😉
See you soon xxx
